For any parent, discovering their child has been abused—especially by someone trusted—is devastating. Nicole Moehring, author of Evan’s Voice and Evan & Gillian Say, became a fierce advocate after her son Evan, who has developmental disabilities, was abused and failed by protective systems. Committed to driving change, Nicole will explore the need for stronger protections, barriers to justice that people with DD often experience, and the urgent need for prevention and advocacy tools to build safer communities.
